For the Real match, Rodgers "rested" a number of players (I would say a couple of them could just as easily have been dropped). He argued that he wanted to keep the squad fresh and had one eye on the Chelsea match. Plus, they actually performed pretty well.

So do you think he was right to rest players? A lot of people think 'no', even though the performance was one of the best this season.
Yes, it was the right decision. I knew before the result that Madrid wasn't going to absolutely batter them. Rodgers put on a weakened team because he had a plan behind it. The regular team wasn't working out, so the best bet was to place a different team. Baffles me as to why some people thought it was as weak as a "championship" side.
The more I think about it, the more I feel it was definitely the right decision. The so-called first time haven't been doing the business, and while I did have some doubts, the selection did us proud. As it stands, I'm really not sure whether Rodgers knows his best team, given that his supposed best team isn't performing.
I believe it was good what Rodgers did, however we didn't stand a chance against Real. It's funny that our "second-team" played better on Bernabeu than our "first team" played on Anfield against Real Madrid.
I think a few first team places are going to be up for grabs after the international break. Rodgers still hasn't worked out what his best combination is, which isn't making it fun viewing at the moment.

I agree, the best combination is yet to be found, and at Liverpool there shouldn't be any first team at the moment (the exception would be Gerrard) all the players should be aware that if they don't give in all they've got they'll lose their place in the first squad.
